"Sensational" Champions League Winner Makes Transfer Stance Clear Amid Links To Man United And City

Manchester United target Gianluigi Donnarumma has publicly stated that he wants to sign a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian international is closing in on the final twelve months of his current deal with PSG and reports in the French press over the weekend linked the keeper with moves to the Red Devils and Manchester City. Responding to the speculation, Donnarumma said:

“My priority is to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and sign [a] new deal. I don’t think there will be any issue or problem.”

Donnarumma’s agent Enzo Raiola also raised doubts about the goalkeeper’s future when he spoke to the Italian media last week.

However, the 26-year-old, who has been described as “sensational” by his manager Luis Enrique, has now played down the prospect of him leaving the European champions.

Man United are looking for a new No.1

While it seems that Donnarumma won’t be making the switch to Old Trafford this summer, the chances of another keeper being signed to replace Andre Onana are increasing.

Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is a target who has been seriously considered. The Serbian reportedly has a €20m (£17m) release clause in his contract, which makes him an attractive option. Other names, such as Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, are also**said to be in contention**.

Other positions are being prioritised

At the moment, Director of Football Jason Wilcox is trying to get a deal over the line for Bryan Mbeumo. An opening bid worth up to £55m was rejected by Brentford but a second proposal is expected to be tabled soon.

Recruiting a new No.9 is also high up the agenda. Head coach Ruben Amorim would love to bring in Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres andfresh talks have been held about a potential deal, but it could cost upwards of €80m (£68m) to secure the Swedish international’s signature.
