has been spotted out and about in Manchester city centre the day after declaring the city 'means so much' to him.

The Manchester City manager was filming an advert for payment firm Visa in the Northern Quarter with a former Corrie star.

It was announced earlier this year that Pep had signed a two-year deal with the bank card giants. As part of it, customers will have the chance to attend a game at next year's World Cup with him.

He today (Tuesday) spent several hours filming with the help of a large crew and supporting cast, according to onlookers.

He was seen going in and out of trendy clothes store Hip, on Thomas Street, where he is believed to buy some clothes using his Visa card as part of the promo shoot.

Former Coronation Street star Alex Bain - who played Simon Barlow in the soap from 2008 to 2024 - was among the extras. He was wearing overalls with the word 'staff' on them.

It comes just a day after Pep was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Manchester.

The 54-year-old, who has led City to six Premier League titles and 2023 Champions League glory, was presented with an honorary doctorate by the University’s chancellor, Nazir Afzal, at Whitworth Hall.

"Manchester means so much to me," Guardiola said, accepting the award. "I have spent nine years here and it has become home. The people, the culture, my incredible football club, my colleagues… it is all so special to me and my family.

"When I arrived here in 2016, I did not know how long I would spend here. The way this city embraced me made everything easy. My time here has been beautiful."

He also spoke out about the conflict in Gaza. He referenced his own three children as he told of seeing news about 'infants' in Gaza everyday. He described what was happening there as 'so painful' and said 'it hurts all my body.'

After a short break from the end of the season, Pep will lead City in the Club World Cup in America which starts on Saturday, June 14.

The Blues have been doing some shopping themselves ahead of the tournament.

They have announced the signing of Wolves defender Rayan Aït-Nouri and are expected to finalise deals for Lyon's Rayan Cherki and AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders before tonight's 7pm deadline for them to be able to play in the competition.
