The Tennessee Titans were reportedly in the market to trade down from the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Then, they met with Cam Ward at his Pro Day, and everything changed.
The Titans were no longer looking to move, as they had found their franchise quarterback.
That’s why, after taking him with the first selection, it’s not a surprise to hear that he’s going to be their starter, and therefore will get most of the QB reps during minicamp.
Insider Turron Davenport reported that, according to head coach Bill Callahan, former starter Will Levis has taken the news like a good sport.
“The Titans QB reps will go mostly to Cameron Ward for minicamp because they want to further develop him. Brian Callahan said Will Levis did a good job in the offseason & has handled the situation well. Callahan also said Ward has done a good job getting mental reps when not in,” Davenport wrote on X.

The Titans took Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
He showcased all the physical tools one would want from an NFL quarterback, and he’s made some impressive throws and great plays in his two seasons.
Unfortunately, he alternated those epic throws with incredible blunders, and his decision-making often left plenty to be desired.
He’s about to turn 26 years old, and he might turn out to be a good player.
But whenever a team takes a quarterback with the No. 1 selection, it has to give him every opportunity to succeed, and if the coaching staff believes Ward is ready to go, so be it.
The writing was already on the wall, and it seems like Levis’ days as a starter, at least in Tennessee, have come to an end.
