‘World-class’ Liverpool star now open to Saudi switch as blockbuster move mooted - journalist

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is open to a move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal, according to FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna.

The Reds clinched their second Premier League title in Arne Slot's first season in charge, as they dominated the top-flight campaign and won the championship by 10 points.

Now Liverpool are looking to strengthen their squad in order to compete for the title once more and progress further in the Champions League, but several stars could also be on their way out in order to make way for the new arrivals.

One of the players who is expected to be on the move away from Anfield this summer is Uruguayan striker Nunez, who struggled to get regular game time under Slot during the 2024/25 campaign.

One of the top clubs interested is believed to be Saudi giants Al-Hilal, who are looking to add more top names from Europe to their squad as they want to strengthen.

While there is also interest from Atletico Madrid in Nunez, it has now emerged that he would be open to a move to Saudi should the opportunity present itself and Liverpool agree to a deal to let him go.

GIVEMESPORT sources revealed back in February that Nunez was close to a move to Saudi during the January transfer window, only for Slot to block the deal as the club couldn't find a replacement before the window shut.

But now a deal looks more doable, with Liverpool set to add Florian Wirtz to their squad in a club-record deal while they are also looking to sign a new central striker. Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota are all also up for sale should the right offer arrive. Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Victor Osimhen have all been linked.
