Tim Weah didn't mention Landon Donovan by name in a cryptic post on his Instagram story, but it wasn't hard to see who the Juventus winger was referencing.
Weah waded into the ongoing controversy surrounding Donovan and Christian Pulisic, who has become a target of the USMNT legend's ire after deciding to skip the Gold Cup this summer.
Donovan called out Pulisic during Fox's broadcast of the UEFA Nations League final on Sunday, though he didn't actually mention the AC Milan star's name.
"I can’t help but think about some of our guys on vacation right now not wanting to play in Gold Cup. It’s pissing me off," Donovan said.
Pulisic's father Mark responded in a post on his Instagram account on Monday.

"This guy is .. talking about commitment.. look in the mirror + grow a pair and call names out or are you afraid next time you want an interview you will get rejected again," the elder Pulisic charged.
Weah had his say on his own Instagram story, posting a dictionary definition of the word "envy."
In addition, Weah added a song to his story: "Back Stabbers" by the O'Jays.
Donovan and Clint Dempsey are tied for the most career USMNT goals with 57 apiece. Pulisic is in fifth place with 32 goals and at age 26, he has a strong chance of surpassing the two legends.
In much the same fashion as Donovan, Weah got his message across perfectly without actually naming the target of his dig.
