Celtic have reportedly withdrawn from the race to sign Danish striker Mathias Kvistgaarden, with the Brøndby forward attracting strong interest from West Ham United and Eintracht Frankfurt. [RecordSport]
Celtic had shown interest in the 23-year-old forward as far back as last summer, weighing up an £8 million offer before opting instead to bring in Adam Idah from Norwich City on a permanent deal.

Despite Celtic’s long-standing interest, the Hoops have reportedy cooled on the move amid doubts about the player’s fit and the escalating transfer fee. Brøndby are reportedly seeking over £12 million for the striker, a valuation that is believed to have put-off the Hoops.
West Ham United are said to be interested, with reports indicating they are preparing a substantial bid for Kvistgaarden. Eintracht Frankfurt are also in the mix, having tracked Kvistgaarden for the past 18 months.

As Celtic shift focus to other targets, the club’s pursuit of Kvistgaarden appears to have concluded, with the striker’s future likely to be decided between West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Celtic, meanwhile, have yet to replace Kyogo Furuhashi following his January move to Rennes. While Welsh forward Callum Osmand is edging closer to a move to Glasgow, the youngster is seen more as one for the future rather than a ready-made solution. That reality leaves supporters anxiously awaiting the arrival of a proven goalscorer to fill the void left by Kyogo’s departure.
