Report: The Friedkins readying £33m offer as Everton await transfer answer from 'important'…

Everton are on the hunt to add a new striker to their options ahead of the new campaign.

It has been a consistent issue for managers on Merseyside with David Moyes having endured his own striker issues since joining in January.

Fortunately, Everton were able to rely on some goals coming from other areas of the pitch with Beto the club’s only real fit striker.

But Everton are keen to add a new striker alongside Beto to give Moyes some solid options to select from ahead of the stadium move.

There are a number of players on the radar as the first window of the summer market already comes to a close.

As teams prepare for the transfer break, there is one player who is now said to be weighing up his options as Everton prepare to make their move.

With that in mind, Monday’s edition of Marca is now suggesting Barry is set to make his decision soon on his future.

The 22-year-old striker has Everton keen to secure his signature this summer, but Villarreal remain keen to keep him.

Everton are ready to trigger Barry’s release clause as they await his decision following an impressive stint in Spain.

Barry does have the opportunity to play Champions League football next season by remaining in Spain with Villarreal whose manager Marcelino has hailed him as ‘important’.

But the lure of potentially playing in the Premier League is something which Barry is now considering after Everton’s interest has grown in recent days.

The Friedkins need to make a big striker signing

This is the first summer transfer window for the Friedkins since they completed their takeover back in December.

Everton’s finances will take a big boost as the club get set to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium over the summer.

With that, the Friedkins want to make a statement signing for Everton to really get the fans excited for the new campaign.

Moyes has wanted a new forward at Everton since the moment he walked through the door on Merseyside.

A new striker does feel like Everton’s biggest requirement this summer and a big-name addition would be the perfect way to start the summer market.
