West Ham could agree a loan deal for Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (10 June) that Graham Potter’s side are definitely in the market for a goalkeeper this summer.
Sources say West Ham have “concerns” about Alphonse Areola‘s ability to become the undisputed number one shot-stopper at the London Stadium.
Ramsdale, 27, is available this summer following Southampton‘s relegation but money will be tight at West Ham following a dismal 2024-25 campaign and the club may not be able to sanction a permanent deal.
West Ham could pay big fee to loan Ramsdale next season
It is believed there is a potential route to a loan agreement, which would involve the Irons covering his wages and paying a substantial loan fee.
West Ham could include an option to buy if that deal takes shape – or Ramsdale could even return to Southampton should they achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
