Man Utd are looking to upgrade the No.1 position with an update on the future of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Fabrizio Romano.

Ruben Amorim isn’t going to get much of a break this summer judging by the number of players who are being linked to Manchester United.

The priority positions appear to be finding a new striker and adding fire power to the forward line with the signing of Matheus Cunha a start and Bryan Mbuemo also choosing United.

Fabrizio Romano provides latest update on Gianluigi Donnarumma to Man Utd

Fabrizio Romano has relayed an update on one of the targets with Italy’s first choice and Champions League winner Donnarumma hinting at what his future might hold. Donnarumma said on his future: “My priority is to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and sign new deal. I don’t think there will be any issue or problem.”

One down, two to go. A reported £33m fee for Donnarumma because of his contract status seems on the cheap side, but it doesn’t look like he will be leaving Paris any time soon and who could blame him given the ease at which they swept to the Champions League title.

At 26, the former AC Milan stopper is one of the best in the business and won’t be short of offers if he ever decides to leave Ligue 1. A statement that can’t be said of Andre Onana, who United will be desperate to move on as soon as possible.

Why Man Utd need to get rid of Andre Onana as Neville nails rant

If Ruben Amorim is to have a fresh start, players who have consistently let him down, like Onana, need to be shown the door and Gary Neville’s rant on The Overlap at the end of the season couldn’t have been more accurate:

“Luke (Shaw), it’s not your job to determine that, the manager will determine that,” Neville said about comments Shaw made in regards to his thoughts on the current team not being United quality.

“When the players are starting to come out and question publicly whether they are good enough to play for the club that you know how bad it is internally there. Imagine what they are saying inside.

“If you can feel people having a [negative] influence over others, I think you have to wipe it out. You’ve got to wipe out every single player in that dressing room who doesn’t believe that they have got total and utter confidence to play for that football club.

“The club is eating them alive, it’s too big for them and someone’s got to get a grip of that club and I think it has to be the manager. Ruben, you’ve got to get a grip of that club.”

It might not be Donnarumma, but the feeling around the club would be instantly improved by replacing Onana with a Ter Stegen or Martinez. Two players who know that they have what it takes to wear the Manchester United crest on their chest.
