Chelsea have made a second bid worth £47 million to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The Blues are keen on bolstering their attack ahead of next season and Gittens has emerged as the top target to replace Jadon Sancho in the squad.
The club recently opted against signing Sancho permanently after his loan stint from Manchester United. They prefer Gittens as his successor.
Chelsea have today made a second offer worth £47m for the English winger, but Dortmund have turned down the proposal from the London outfit.
The Bundesliga giants are aware of the 20-year-old's potential, and they are reportedly eyeing at least £55 million to sanction his departure.
Chelsea have failed to sign Gittens before the transfer deadline for the Club World Cup, but they are expected to continue negotiations.
Aside from a wide attacker, the Blues are determined to sign another striker despite purchasing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town lately.
