It is abundantly clear who the best general manager is in all of football. It's Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman. That's an easy call.
And, much of that has to do with his ability to make the right moves at the right time. Speaking of making moves, the Eagles were just left with the door cracked wide open on another potential blockbuster.
The Trey Hendrickson saga continues rolling on, and the Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher is officially skipping mandatory minicamp. Apparently, the Bengals reached out to Hendrickson the day before players reported to minicamp and, still, there was no movement on a new deal.
Now, the Eagles could be looking at arguably their weakest position with a golden opportunity at hand.
Don't put it past Howie Roseman to get Trey Hendrickson to the Eagles
How would a trade work? How would the Eagles be able to pay him on a long-term contract?
Let's allow Roseman to figure out those details because, if anybody can, it's Howie.
Just think of the possibilities, though. A Vic Fangio defense that's gotten better, continued to add intriguing pieces all over the place ... gets Hendrickson? That's quite the thought.
The Bengals, meanwhile, are a team that's invested so much into their offense and might just have the worst defense in the league. They can't even get things right when it comes to drafting their first-round defenders, as Shemar Stewart is also not present and the two sides have yet to figure out a deal.
At this rate, the Bengals are going to want as much draft capital as possible to try and right their wrongs on that side of the ball.

And, what better opportunity for the Eagles than to come in and make an offer the Bengals can't refuse? This almost seems like a lost cause for Cincinnati. Hendrickson is dug in. The Bengals appear to be dug in.
How exactly does this end?
With Hendrickson in Philly, that's how.
