The Denver Broncos have made a few changes to their running back room in the offseason, including drafting RJ Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
In a new move, to further bolster one of the key areas the Broncos planned to address in the offseason, the Broncos are reportedly signing former Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins to a one-year deal worth $5.25 million according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.
The move comes after the Broncos hosted Dobbins on a visit in Denver late last week, and further adds to the Broncos running back room. Now getting handoffs from Bo Nix are Harvey, Dobbins, and Audric Estime.
Dobbins, in his fourth NFL season and fifth since being drafted, had a career year for the Broncos. he ran for 905 yards on 195 attempts, both career highs. He also scored nine rushing touchdowns, tying his previous career high.

As a rusher, Dobbins was incredible for the Chargers to begin the year. But, as the season wore on, he slowed down a bit and missed a few games to close out the year.
But, after dealing with a litany of injuries throughout his career, each of which could've jeopardized his NFL future, Dobbins had a great season in his fifth year since getting drafted by the Ravens.
The 26-year-old was a finalist for Comeback Player of the Year in 2024, and helped the Charger make an impact in making the playoffs.
After his career year, Dobbins free agent market was slow. But, Sean Payton and Broncos saw something in Dobbins, and now paired him with Harvey as Nix's new backfield mates in a much-improved running back room for the 2025 season.
