Kieran Tierney has pledged to maintain Celtic’s domination of Scottish football after completing his return to the club from Arsenal.

The 28-year-old left-back departed Glasgow for the north London outfit in a £25million deal in 2019 and made 144 appearances, scoring six times, including one in his final game.

Prior to that, he played 170 times for Celtic, netting eight times, and later made 26 appearances on loan to Real Sociedad from Arsenal.

With his deal in England due to expire, Tierney signed a pre-contract agreement which ties him to his boyhood heroes until 2030.

The player, who won four Premiership titles in his first spell, has watched from afar as Celtic have claimed the past four Scottish leagues.

Aiming to continue that run of success under Brendan Rodgers, the 28-year-old said: ‘Everybody’s known for a few months and just to be here with the Celtic strip on again just feels amazing.

The 28-year-old was a huge fans' favourite first time around, winning four league titles

Tierney's time in London was blighted by injury but many Arsenal fans were sad to see him go

‘I spoke with the manager, and obviously I had worked with him before and I’ve always kept in touch with him. He’s one of the best so I’m so lucky and grateful that he’s given me the chance to come back again.

‘My ambition is just for Celtic to be as successful as possible, retain our place at the top and continue to win trophies and do well for Celtic.’

In total, Tierney won 10 trophies first time around at Parkhead, including three consecutive trebles, with the first two of those coming on Rodgers’ watch.

The Northern Irishman believes the full-back’s desire to win silverware in Scotland is as strong as it’s ever been.

‘We are delighted to welcome Kieran back to Celtic,’ he said. ‘He is such a talented, high-quality player and he will be a massive addition to our squad.

‘Kieran has always had Celtic in his blood and he is excited to be coming back to the place he loves.

Celtic have also snapped up 19-year-old Welsh striker Callum Osmand from Fulham

‘He is someone who has given so much to Celtic already and I know he is so motivated and hungry to help the club bring more and more success to our fans.’

Meanwhile, Fulham striker Callum Osmand has completed a medical with the Scottish champions.

It’s understood the 19-year-old Welsh youth international has now agreed a deal to move to Glasgow. Fulham will be due training compensation once its completed.
