Rip City Remix name new head coach

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Rip City Remix named Jonah Herscu as the team’s next head coach on Tuesday.

Herscu spent the past three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, the parent club of the G League Remix, as an assistant under coach Chauncey Billups. He also served as the teams’ Summer League coach the past two seasons.

Prior to his time in Portland, Herscu spent time with the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls of the NBA, as well as time coaching in the G League and WNBA.

He began his coaching career in 2013 with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the then D-League.

Sergi Oliva, who coached the Remix last season, returns to his previous role as an assistant GM with the Trail Blazers.

Herscu becomes the third head coach in the history of the Remix, who began play in the 2023-24 season.

The Remix play at the Chiles Center at the University of Portland.
