Everyone Saying the Same Thing After Aaron Rodgers’ First Day of Steelers Minicamp

After months of waiting, Pittsburgh Steelers fans finally got to see their new four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers suit up on Tuesday during the first day of minicamp.

Rodgers, who signed a one-year $13.65 million deal that includes $10 million guaranteed and an extra $5.85 million in incentives, is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career.

The Cal alum threw for just 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading the New York Jets to a 5-12 record — a performance that got both head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas fired midseason, which promptly led to the team cutting ties with him shortly after the season ended.

And after making the Steelers and their fans sweat it out for the better part of three months—the only QB the team brought in was rookie sixth-round pick Will Howard—Rodgers finally put pen to paper, and he made his team debut on Tuesday.

A video emerged on social media showing Rodgers’ first action as a member of the Steelers, and the reactions on social media were less than underwhelming. In fact, several fans expressed the same concern about the 41-year-old signal-caller's mobility.

“Is this slow motion? I hope so,” one fan stated.

“He moves a lot like me...and I'm 60!” another scoffed.

“Is it just me or do his feet move like cement blocks?” a third fan replied.

“Oh dear lord! My dead grandmother looks better,” one user commented.

“Looks old,” remarked another user.

“He still doesn’t look comfortable throwing off that back leg,” a third user noted.

“Oh that looks gross,” one fan quipped.

Though Rodgers will be the NFL’s oldest starting QB in 2025—he’s a good four years older than the next-oldest player, Los Angeles Rams passer Matthew Stafford (37)—many are convinced the Super Bowl champion still has plenty left in the tank.

That’s not to say that Rodgers doesn’t have his work cut out for him though.

The Steelers allowed the ninth-most sacks in the NFL last season (49), and Pittsburgh still has major questions marks at both left and right tackle.

Presumed left tackle Broderick Jones allowed 11 sacks, 45 pressures, 24 hurries on 1,105 offensive snaps on the right side last season, per Pro Football Focus, and presumed right tackle Troy Fautanu played just 55 offensive snaps last year.
