Draft prospects wait in the green room until they hear their name called in the draft. Then, after being selected by a given team, they take the stage.

Demin is the first former BYU basketball player to get an NBA draft green room invite since Jimmer Fredette in the 2011 draft. Coincidentally, Fredette is the last BYU player to be selected in the NBA draft.

Demin was in attendance at the NBA draft lottery in Chicago last month.

The 6-foot-8, 1/4 Demin played one season at BYU. He’s been playing professional basketball since he was 15 years old, when he was part of the Real Madrid organization.

During his one season at BYU, Demin averaged 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game.

The Moscow, Russia native was part of a BYU team that reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time in 14 years, and delivered the program’s highest final AP Top 25 ranking since that 2011 season led by Fredette.
