Tottenham Hotspur are undertaking a huge remodel of their coaching staff after sacking Ange Postecoglou despite winning their first trophy in 17 years.
Postecoglou’s men defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final this season, qualifying them for Champions League football despite their 17th place finish in the Premier League, their worst finish of the Premier League era.
As such, the Spurs board decided it’s time to part ways ready for next season with a bid to bounce back, as Brentford’s Thomas Frank is set to succeed Postecoglou in the manager’s seat.
However, he’s not the only Brentford man Spurs are looking to bring to their side.
Frank originally made it clear that he wants his star man Bryan Mbeumo to move with him, asking Spurs to launch a £60 million bid for the attacker to hijack Manchester United’s planned transfer.
Unfortunately for Frank, new reports have suggested a move for Mbeumo from Tottenham is extremely unlikely.
Fortunately for the new manager however, one man who is looking likely to move with him is assistant manager Justin Cochrane.
Cochrane has been Frank’s assistant manager since 2022, having moved to join The Bees from Manchester United.
Prior to his move, the 43-year-old was the director of development at Old Trafford, with The Red Devils making the most of his experience with the England youth teams, having managed the Under-15s, Under-16s and Under-17s at varying different times.
Sky Sports has reported that talks are taking place to appoint Frank’s backroom staff, including discussions for Cochrane to re-join the club after being a member of Tottenham’s academy staff between 2009 and 2018.
Despite the believe that Justin Cochrane would be Frank’s successor at Brentford, it now seems that the assistant manager will stay by the Danish manager’s side in moving to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
