Darwin Nunez is seen as a contender to leave Liverpool this summer. Although the Uruguayan has missed out on a move to Al-Hilal in time for the FIFA Club World Cup, it is expected that sooner or later he will be on the move.

Liverpool paid a fee that could reach £85m for Darwin back in 2022 and they will be hoping to claw back as much of that as possible in an eventual sale.

Clearing Darwin out of the squad would make space for an upgrade at No9 - and free up budget in the wage bill too. Andone player who could come in and be an immediate hit at Anfield is Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian has just enjoyed a sensational season on loan at Galatasaray, firing Cimbom to the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

Victor Osimhen available this summer

The 26-year-old scored 37 goals in 41 games overall - sparking an almighty transfer clamour for his signature this summer.

Napoli still own Osimhen’s rights but there is no way back for him at the Diego Maradona Stadium. Therefore, the Italian champions are seeking to cash in this summer.

Osimhen is said to have rejected a move to Saudi Arabiaat this stage of his career - and has his eyes firmly trained on the Premier League.

And now, according to a report in TBR Football, the hitman has held talks with Liverpool over a move to Anfield.

Liverpool hold Osimhen talks

“After recently holding discussions with Liverpool, Victor Osimhen is still determined to move to the Premier League this summer,” a report reads.

“Liverpool are interested in Osimhen, a striker who is also on Manchester United’s radar.”

The report also adds that Osimhen doesn’t view his wage demands as excessive, despite previous speculation that his expected pay packet was pricing clubs out of the equation.

With Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike’s prices spiralling out of control, moreover, the report states that Osimhen is available for a very reasonable-looking £50m.
