Report: Aston Villa want to sign £70m Manchester United player, Ineos must be tempted to ask for cheeky swap

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is a man in demand as Ruben Amorim looks to cash in this summer.

Manchester United are planning major changes this summer and Ruben Amorim’s focus appears to be on an attacking revolution.

Matheus Cunha has secured a move to Old Trafford and United have failed with a bid for Bryan Mbeumo.

The Brentford ace should still join United, but there is work to be done on a deal for the Cameroonian.

United must also offload attackers and returning loanees Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony will be available.

Amorim has told Alejandro Garnacho to leave United, with the Argentinian made available in a potentially big-money move.

Aston Villa stance on Alejandro Garnacho

Garnacho has attracted plenty of interest, with the 20-year-old still viewed as a player with huge potential.

Bayer Leverkusen have eyed Garnacho as Florian Wirtz inches towards a move to Liverpool.

Napoli are also looking at Garnacho, having targeted him as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January.

The Independent claim that United want £70million for Garnacho with four clubs leading the hunt for his signature.

Aston Villa, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Napoli are all mentioned, though Villa’s interest isn’t straightforward.

It’s suggested that any move from Villa would rely on Morgan Rogers being sold, with Arsenal and Chelsea both interested.

Villa won’t let Rogers go easily, but appear to have already identified Garnacho as a potential replacement.

Villa took Rashford on loan in January, but would seemingly prefer Garnacho this summer – even at a higher price.

Manchester United must ask the question about Morgan Rogers

Villa will only move for Garnacho if Rogers leaves, and that leaves us to suggest asking about a cheeky swap involving the two players.

It’s a long shot, especially if Rogers has interest from Champions League clubs.

United now have two former Manchester City decision-makers calling the shots; Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox.

Rogers emerged in the City ranks and could therefore become a United target, just like Liam Delap.

Swap deals are tricky, but we have seen exchanges between Premier League clubs over the last year in order to avoid PSR problems.

United should at least ask the question; Garnacho to Villa and Rogers to Old Trafford, with a sweetener of some extra cash in Villa’s direction.

There is an old saying, ‘if you don’t ask, you don’t get’, and it may be cheeky, but Rogers would bring some magic to United’s attacking ranks and offloading Garnacho in the process would certainly appeal.
