Former Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has offered some advice to Poland about their current dispute with Robert Lewandowski.
The striker has said he will not play for Poland again while current coach Michal Probierz is in charge and revealed he feels betrayed by the boss.
Koeman was quizzed on the row between the pair and says it’s never a good idea to fall out with your top stars.
“During these years I have learned that you should never fight with your best player. You’ll never win from that. That’s something I’ve learned,” he told a press conference.
Lewandowski opted to make his decision after losing the captain’s armband and claims he was unhappy with the way Probierz handled the decision.
The Poland boss has since hit back and said it was the “the best possible decision” to switch captains. As such, it’s not clear if or when Lewandowski will play international football again.
