Carlos Arroyo and the Vaqueros de Bayamon apologized after an incident between DeMarcus Cousins and fans led to ejections and beer-throwing at a BSN game. The franchise promised an investigation as tensions rise ahead of a midweek rematch.
The Vaqueros de Bayamon, led by former NBA star Carlos Arroyo and music producer Eric Duars, issued a public apology following an ugly incident during Monday night’s game against the Mets de Guaynabo at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez.

The game was marred by tension between fans and DeMarcus Cousins, the high-profile reinforcement for Guaynabo.
Cousins, who was ejected in the fourth quarter after receiving two technical fouls for engaging with hecklers in the stands, became the focal point of a confrontation that escalated when fans threw beer cups at him as he exited the court. Security promptly removed both the former NBA All-Star and the fans involved in the altercation.
In a statement released on social media, the Vaqueros said:
“We offer our most sincere apologies to our loyal fans and the entire BSN community. The incident will be investigated thoroughly, as there are allegations that both sides contributed to the regrettable outcome. This behavior does not reflect our franchise values.”
The fallout from the game, which Bayamón won 101–91, also includes an internal review of video footage to determine further disciplinary actions against any fans who acted inappropriately.
The 34-year-old Cousins had a modest stat line before being tossed: 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 turnovers, shooting just 1/5 from three. His team fell to 9–18, a record far below expectations given the hype surrounding his arrival to the BSN. The Vaqueros, meanwhile, improved to a league-best 21–7 in Conference A.
The rivalry will resume quickly, as both teams face off again Wednesday.
