A former NBA All-Star nearly came to blows with fans during a professional game in Puerto Rico.
DeMarcus Cousins, who made four-straight All-Star games between 2015 and 2018, was seen on social media clashing with fans as he was leaving the court on Monday.
Now a member of the Guaynabo Mets of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional, the incident occurred during a game against Vaqueros de Bayamon. Cousins was seen leaving the court when fan began to taunt him.
The [situation escalated as Cousins was about to enter the tunnel](https://x.com/VideoMixtape_/status/1932274982681219449) and fans started throwing food and drinks at him. Cousins immediately reacted and appeared to be trying to get after the fans but was held back by by security.
He was eventually forcefully pushed into the tunnel before the situation could get worse.
Cousins, 34, was once one of the best big men in the NBA, averaging 27 points and 11.5 rebounds with the Sacramento Kings in 2015-16.
He suffered a torn Achilles in 2018 that marked the beginning of the end for “Boogie.”
He was a solid contributor for Golden State in 2019 but suffered an ACL tear in August. Cousins bounced around the league following the injury but hasn’t played in the NBA since he was with the Nuggets in 2021-22.
He first joined the Mets in 2023 before playing in Taiwan and Mongolia. He returned to the Mets in April.
