COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina State alum and Los Angeles Rams cornerback Cobie Durant recently received a special accolade.
Durant was named the 2025 Black College Football Pro Player of the Year by the NFL Players Association. He received the award during the Black College Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday in Atlanta.
“I want to thank the NFLPA for selecting me for this award,” said Durant. “It’s an honor to be recognized and honored among the Hall of Fame Inductees for the Black College Football Hall of Fame. One day I hope to share the stage with those who have paved the way for me to play in the National Football League.”
A native of Lamar and former star at South Carolina State, Durant is coming off a career-high 40 tackles this past season for the Rams. He also became just the third Rams player to record a sack and an interception in the same game during a playoff matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Durant is set to enter his fourth season with the Rams after being picked by the team in the 2022 NFL Draft.
