Florian Wirtz set to fly to Liverpool ‘in the next hours’ for medical
Tavolieri corroborated Romano’s report, claiming Liverpool and Leverkusen have agreed a €150million (£127million) deal for Wirtz.
The Belgian football journalist then said Wirtz would be flying for his medical “in the next hours”, suggesting it could take place on Wednesday.
Tavolieri also claimed that Wirtz only wanted to join Liverpool, with numerous other big clubs also in pursuit of the Germany international.

Steven Gerrard has already delivered glowing Florian Wirtz verdict
Steven Gerrard is one of Liverpool’s greatest players of all time, and he certainly knows a great deal about being a midfield superstar.
Gerrard recently shared his verdict on Wirtz after being asked if there are any players he’d like to see join Liverpool this summer.
Needless to say, his verdict on the Liverpool-bound playmaker is glowing.
“Well, there’s rumours, obviously, of Florian Wirtz,” Gerrard said on TNT Sports.
“A big talent. Done fantastic for Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, there’s talk that there is going to be a really big signing.
“A huge talent, huge future in front of him. So Liverpool is the place for him, let’s hope we can make it happen.”
It looks like Gerrard’s wishes have come true – Wirtz appears to be Liverpool-bound in what would be one of the biggest football transfers in history.
