A 1-0 win against Andorra in a competitive game was never going to go down well, but England had the chance to put things right in a friendly latch against Senegal at the home of Nottingham Forest. Both Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold were selected for the bench, as Thomas Tuchel opted for a slightly more mixed line-up.
Senegal had the first chance, but England were up after seven minutes through Harry Kane. The visiting nation equalised before half-time to conclude a fairly even half. It would go wrong in the second half, as Senegal took the lead. Jude came in with about 20 minutes to go - and appeared to have scored an equaliser until the goal was pulled back for a handball before the ball hit the net. Senegal then countered to complete an ugly score-line of 3-1 to the away side. Trent Alexander-Arnold did not feature whatsoever.
Not a convincing international break for Tuchel whatsoever. He has a lot to do to win the supporters over. Will he do it by benching Real Madrid players?
