Micky van de Ven scored his first senior international goal as the Netherlands beat Malta 8-0 in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying on Tuesday evening.
The defender started at left-back in the Group G encounter at FC Groningen's Euroborg Stadium and after setting up the seventh goal for Donyell Malen, struck himself in the second minute of added time.
Micky completed a full shift as the Netherlands made it two wins in two, scoring 10 goals, and they are yet to concede on the road to next summer's finals in USA/Mexico and Canada.

Elsewhere, Kevin Danso wasn't involved as Austria beat San Marino 2-0 in Group H. Pape Matar Sarr also didn't feature as Senegal became the first African side to beat England in a friendly at Nottingham Forest and Manor Solomon sat it out as Israel beat Slovakia 1-0.
Staying with friendly action, Jamie Donley and goalkeeper Josh Keeley were unused substitutes as Northern Ireland beat Iceland 1-0 and the Republic of Ireland were held by Luxembourg respectively. Aaron Maguire started on the bench as Republic of Ireland Under-21s were held 0-0 by Qatar in Croatia.
It will be soon back to 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying for Rodrigo Bentancur (Uruguay vs Venezuela, midnight kick-off), Cristian Romero (Argentina vs Colombia, 1am) and Richarlison (Brazil v Paraguay, 1.45am).
From goalline heroics to a goal!
