The Miami Heat will look to pull out all the stops this summer to acquire a superstar talent.
The Heat are aiming to return towards the top of the Eastern Conference in 2025-26 with first-time All-Star Tyler Herro and dominant defensive center Bam Adebayo, and reinforcements could be on the way.
Miami's team president Pat Riley has built a reputation for his aggressiveness when pursuing stars throughout his career as an executive, and it might help the franchise to acquiring its next all-time great player via trade.
According to recent reports from Forbes' Evan Sidery, the Heat could contact the Phoenix Suns this offseason in an effort to negotiate a seismic deal for their 15-time All-Star, Kevin Durant.

"The Heat will get involved in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, per Zach Lowe," Sidery shared via X on Tuesday evening.
Along with this update, Sidery also suggested an enticing deal that could get the Heat and Suns to shake hands on a future transaction.
"Miami can build an appealing trade package for the Suns with Andrew Wiggins, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Duncan Robinson, and future first-round picks."
A trade centered around the 2022 All-Star and NBA champion Andrew Wiggins as well as the Heat's 2024 All-Rookie First Team selection Jaime Jaquez Jr. would assuredly interest the Suns, but other suitors will come knocking.
If the Heat are able to pair the legendary scorer with the duo of Herro and Adebayo, the franchise could easily earn status as dark-horse title contenders in what will presumably be a wide-open Eastern Conference.
At 36 years old, Durant contributed an astoundingly efficient 26.6 points along with 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists, as he boasted a 64.2% true shooting percentage.
Durant's potential acquisition by the Heat may be viewed as a gamble due to his age, but the future Hall of Fame inductee has continued to dominate as he enters the twilight years of his illustrious career.
