Arsenal Women are eyeing a summer move for Liverpool vice-captain Taylor Hinds, with the versatile defender set to become a free agent when her contract expires on June 30, according to sources close to the club.
The 26-year-old Jamaica international, who began her career in Arsenal’s academy, has emerged as a key target for the reigning UEFA Women’s Champions League winners. With plans to play all of their Women’s Super League (WSL) home games at the Emirates Stadium next season, Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a high-profile 2025/26 campaign.
Hinds enjoyed an impressive 2024/25 season with Liverpool, making 22 WSL appearances and scoring twice as the Reds secured a seventh-place finish. Known for her versatility and leadership, she often deputised as captain in the absence of club skipper Niamh Fahey.

Her ability to play across the defence and in midfield has reportedly made her a strong candidate to provide depth behind first-choice right-back Emily Fox and possibly replace Austrian international Laura Wienroither, who is expected to depart this summer.

“Taylor Hinds is a WSL-proven talent who knows Arsenal’s culture from her academy days,” said Arsenal Women expert Tim Stillman on Arseblog News. “Her ability to play multiple positions and her experience make her an ideal fit for Renee Slegers’ squad.”

Hinds made a single senior appearance for Arsenal in 2017 before moving to Everton, later joining Liverpool in 2020. She played a key role in the Merseyside club’s promotion to the WSL, helping them clinch the FA Women’s Championship title in 2022.
Despite Arsenal’s interest, Liverpool remain keen to retain Hinds’ services and have offered her a new contract described by The Athletic as “strong.” The final decision now rests with the player.
Off the pitch, Hinds has also earned praise for her professionalism and courage, notably speaking out against a spectator’s sexually inappropriate comments during Liverpool’s FA Cup win over Arsenal in March 2025. Both clubs publicly supported her, with Arsenal reiterating their zero-tolerance approach to abuse.
