Jeremie Frimpong has been officially announced as a Liverpool player in what is an exciting start to the summer transfer away.

But the incomings are not expected to stop at Frimpong.

However, the attacking midfielder made his preference for Liverpool clear to Bayer Leverkusen’s hierarchy, with reports suggesting he was prepared to “jump on a private jet” to finalize his move to Anfield at any moment.

The German international’s decision appears to have been influenced by Liverpool manager Arne Slot and the club’s recent Premier League triumph.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Florian Wirtz.

“Liverpool verbally agree deal in principle with Bayer Leverkusen for package reaching €150m add-ons included.

“Player side already agreed two weeks ago with move now imminent.

“Wirtz set for medical and contract signing.”

Wirtz arrives at Anfield as one of European football’s most coveted young talents.

His international career with Germany has been impressive, despite being just 22 years old.

He made headlines at UEFA Euro 2024 by becoming the youngest German player to score in the European Championship, netting the tournament opener against Scotland aged 21 years and 42 days.

He has 29 caps for the German national team.

The Wirtz signing forms part of what appears to be Liverpool’s most ambitious transfer window in recent memory.

The club has already secured the services of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and is reportedly close to completing a deal for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

These additions show that the Anfield club are committed to refreshing their squad and go again to try and retain the Premier League title.
