Surprise PL club plotting shock summer swoop for £70m United star guaranteed to leave Old…

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in a summer swoop for Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho is understood to be on his way out of United, with Fabrizio Romano recently revealing that the player is “guaranteed” to get a move to another club.

He made 58 appearances across all competitions in the just-concluded 2024/25 season, scoring a decent 11 goals and providing an additional 10 assists. Yet, his performances were a source of frustration for supporters, especially his inconsistent finishing and decision-making in the final third.

Alongside performance issues, his attitude also came under scrutiny at times. He and Marcus Rashford were left out of the matchday squad that beat Manchester City in December last year due to their demeanour and perceived lack of effort in training.

While Rashford was loaned to Aston Villa in January, Garnacho seemed to respond positively and worked his way back into Ruben Amorim’s favour. However, tensions resurfaced shortly after the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Upset by being named on the bench for the contest, Garnacho slammed Amorim’s decision, said United barely beat anyone in the Premier League and even cast doubts over his future. It didn’t help that his brother also took to social media and publicly accused Amorim of throwing the forward under the bus.

Thereafter, it emerged that Amorim told Garnacho to look for a new club as his services are no longer needed at Old Trafford.

Garnacho continues to be linked to Napoli, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that he is also of interest to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr, where a reunion with his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, is on the cards.

Now, Miguel Delaney of the Independent claims that Villa have become the latest side to register their interest in the Carrington academy graduate.

According to Delaney, Villa are among a host of clubs “monitoring” Garnacho’s situation.

Villa’s move for the 20-year-old is dependent on whether they sell midfielder Morgan Rogers.

The newspaper adds that within United, Garnacho is seen as one of the very few sellable players who could command a high price.

United want £70m to sanction his exit.
