Florian Wirtz looks set to become a Liverpool player after a deal has been agreed with Bayer Leverkusen for one of Germany’s, and Europe’s, biggest rising talents. Florian Wirtz to Liverpool: Done Deal for Huge Asking Fee
£130 Million Package Complete
Fabrizio Romano has given his Here We Go for Wirtz’s move to Liverpool, as they have “verbally agreed a deal in principle” with Bayer Leverkusen. This is a record Premier League signing, and a record Bundesliga sale, though high fees are commonplace in football these days.

It was reported that the Merseyside outfit wanted to avoid a “long saga” in case of surprises, and it appears that they have decided to simply meet the asking price to do this. After already securing the services of his teammate, Jeremie Frimong, they will now turn their attention towards finishing the Milos Kerkez deal. There is reportedly one more round of talks for the Hungarian who is keen to join his new club.
Liverpool Investing in Arne Slot Project
When Arne Slot arrived last summer, he was given just one signing: Federico Chiesa. Perhaps this was to avoid any rash decisions, as they entered a period of instability after eight years with Jurgen Klopp at the helm. Spending heavily on players to suit Slot could have backfired quickly if his methods did not work. However, after winning the club only their second ever Premier League title, it appears that he is now being rewarded with heavy investment to continue his successful methods.

The aforementioned trio will likely cost over £200 million, with well over two months of the transfer window remaining. Whether this suggests further recruitment, or simply a tactical decision to give them time to gel, it is clear that Liverpool are investing in Slot and expecting many more trophies in coming seasons. Two attacking full-backs will be perfect for their Dutch manager who enjoys overlapping runs.
