As the Indianapolis Colts enter a new era of ownership, one player took a moment to reflect on the legacy of Jim Irsay, the man who guided the franchise from 1997 until his death on May 21st of this year.
Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox, who has been with the team since 2017, is one of the longer-tenured Colts players on this roster. There have been plenty of ups and downs in his tenure with the franchise, but one thing never wavered: Jim Irsay’s love for and commitment to the Colts franchise, and the city of Indianapolis. During the Tuesday edition of The Ride With JMV, Alie-Cox joined the show and spoke about his lasting memories of the Colts former owner.
“_I’m definitely going to miss Jim. My lasting impression of Jim for me was just he was always there whenever you needed him. Great guy, cared about the team; the team was always first…Jim definitely cared about the players, cared about us all deeply, and we’re definitely going to miss him._”
During their conversation, JMV and Alie-Cox also spoke about Irsay’s history of working his way up through the franchise, the current state of the Colts, new tight end Tyler Warren and even the Pacers in the NBA Finals! Check out that conversation below, and tune into The Ride With JMV weekdays from 3-6pm on 93.5/107.5 The Fan!
