The Cleveland Browns have five quarterbacks currently on their roster, which has led some to question who is going to start in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
But some are harsher than others when talking about Cleveland's quarterback room.
In a recent episode of The Herd With Colin Cowherd, Jason McIntyre made a bold claim regarding the Browns' situation under center, specifically one of the team's rookies, Shedeur Sanders.
"Despite all the hype for Shedeur, he’s the only quarterback on the Browns who wasn’t playing with the [first team]," McIntyre said. "The guy’s got ‘Be Legendary’ as his motto [and] he’s throwing really lavish NFL Draft parties. He’s fourth on the depth chart, decidedly."
Making a claim like that has no grounds, as the Browns have not released an official depth chart, so fans do not know who the starter is going to be on day one. It could eventually be any one of the five quarterbacks on the roster - the team has said exactly that - as the Browns coaching staff is just figuring that out as the offseason moves along.
Sanders slid from almost a guaranteed first-round pick all the way until the fifth round, when the Browns decided to "take a chance" on the former Colorado star.
It is way too early to say that Sanders is "decidedly" the QB4, as there is at least an outside chance that he is the team's quarterback of the future.
Only time will tell how high on the depth chart the rookie will be at the start of the season. So ... hyperbolic media takes aside ... let's give it that time.
