Sacramento Kings Free Agent Options: Precious Achiuwa

The Sacramento Kings are in desperate need of forward depth.

With some money to work with in free agency, there are available candidates that fill their needs.

Precious Achiuwa, who spent last season with the New York Knicks, averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds on 50.2 percent from the field in 57 games played last season.

While he’s not starter caliber, Sacramento needs depth at the position as mentioned.

As a limited three-pointer shooter, converting 27.8 percent of his 0.8 long range attempts per game last season, his fit alongside Domantas Sabonis is questionable.

But there’s enough there, along with his potential as a backup center, to draw intrigue from new general manager Scott Perry.

Expected to be relatively cheap on the open market, the Kings could fill their depth with promising talent such as the 25 year old 6’8” product from Memphis.

Lyles, one of the staples in Sacramento’s rotation over the past four seasons, will enter NBA free agency for the second time since joining the Kings during the 2021-22 season’s trade deadline.

Following a strong 2022-23 season that saw Lyles provide Sacramento with valuable minutes as the team’s backup power forward, the Kentucky product inked a two-year, $16 million deal to remain with the Kings.

Two seasons later, with averages of 6.9 points and 4.5 rebounds on 43/36/70 shooting splits over 127 games under his belt, Lyles will once again enter free agency as Sacramento will have to make another decision on the backup power forward spot.
