Man United'discover'Donnarumma asking price

Manchester United have reportedly discovered what it could take to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.

Donnarumma played a key role in PSG's treble-winning season, recording 12 shutouts in 40 matches in all competitions, including six clean sheets in the club's successful Champions League campaign.

While the Italian may be an important part of Luis Enrique's side, there appears to be some doubt as to whether he will still be at the Parc des Princes next season.

Donnarumma is set to enter the final 12 months of his PSG contract and is yet to reach an agreement over a new deal with the French champions.

The goalkeeper has talked privately about a potential move to the Premier League amid interest from Man United.

PSG are keen to retain Donnarumma's services, but they may have to entertain offers this summer if there is no progress in contract talks.

The French giants will be desperate to avoid a situation where their first-choice goalkeeper walks away on a free transfer next summer.

According to La Repubblica, via The Sun, Man United have been given a boost by PSG's affordable asking price.

They could allow the Italy international to leave for as little as €40m (£34m) this summer, representing an enticing fee for a top-quality goalkeeper.

However, the Red Devils will be wary that they could face competition from local rivals Manchester City in the race for Donnarumma's signature.

Why are Man United targeting Donnarumma?

Man United currently boast Andre Onana and Altay Bayinidir as their main two goalkeeper options, while they are set to agree a new contract to keep third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

However, the Red Devils are said to be open to selling Onana after their first-choice goalkeeper made a number of high-profile errors in the 2024-25 campaign.

The Cameroon international still has three years left to run on his contract, but he continues to be linked with a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.

Meanwhile, Bayindir has failed to convince when he has played for the club and may also entertain a departure in a bid to gain regular playing time.
