Indiana forward Aaron Nesmith has emerged into a dependable two-way contributor for the Pacers on the league’s biggest stages — but few moments have matched the significance of what’s next.
Nesmith appeared in 45 games for the Pacers during the regular season, averaging 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 50.7% from the field. The 24-year-old forward has elevated his game at the biggest stage and has started all 18 games for Indiana in the postseason heading into Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Nesmith, a former NBA first round draft pick in 2020 out of Vanderbilt, played an important role in the Pacers' playoff run, helping Indiana knock off the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and eventually the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals to secure the franchise’s first trip to the Finals since 2000. He’s averaged 13.8 points and 5.8 rebounds in the playoffs while guarding some of the league’s toughest wing assignments. His elevated impact to the Pacers and their fans hasn't gone unnoticed.

Ahead of the homecoming, Nesmith shared his excitement for what’s to come.
"I can't wait to see how rocking and loud this place is," Nesmith told reporters. "It's going to be a special, special moment for sure."
With the series tied, Indiana will host its first NBA Finals game in 25 years when the team takes the floor at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Pacers last appeared in the NBA Finals in 2000, when Reggie Miller faced off against the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'neal led Los Angeles Lakers. This marks just the second NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.
