Liverpool have been speaking to the representatives of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.
The Nigerian, who has scored 151 goals in his senior career, has recently rejected a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal with the hope of remaining in Europe.
TBRFootball claim that Osimhen’s camp have “held talks” with both Arne Slot’s side and Manchester United over the past month.

The forward is said to have made it his top priority to “move to England” but teams have been reluctant to match his wages.
Osimhen himself does not believe his salary demands are excessive, although Chelsea pulled out of signing him last year for that precise reason.
Napoli may drop their asking price for the striker
Osimhen does have a €75m (£63m) release clause in his contract but he is closing in on the final year of his contract and it is believed that his club may consider lowering his valuation.
A bid above £50m may well be accepted by Napoli, with the Serie A champions keen to ensure that he doesn’t leave on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Liverpool are focused on other targets
While the Reds are likely to be a market for a new No.9, especially if either Darwin Nunez or Diogo Jota leaves Anfield this summer, the Merseysiders are currently prioritising other positions.
The club are still locked in talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz. The reluctance to match the German’s €150m (£126m) valuation is holding up the deal.
Sporting director Richard Hughes is also hoping to wrap up the signing of Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez very soon. The Cherries are said to be holding out for £45m to sell the Hungarian international.
