Manchester United have reportedly set their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho amid interest from Chelsea and other European clubs. The 20-year-old has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford over the last couple of months, and his recent fall-out with head coach Ruben Amorim further throws his future into doubt.
Following a forgettable season, in which they finished in 15th position in the Premier League table, reports emerged that the Red Devils were planning an overhaul of their entire squad.
Garnacho, who grew through the ranks at Manchester United, was linked with moves to Chelsea and Napoli in the January transfer window, but both deals fell through due to disagreement over price. Apart from the Blues and the Serie A side, clubs such as Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, and Bayer Leverkusen are believed to be monitoring the player’s situation.
The Independent reports that Manchester United have put a £70 million price tag on Alejandro Garnacho. This is higher than the £60 million that The Telegraph reported last month.
The Red Devils recently announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and are also pursuing Bryan Mbeumo and Viktor Gyökeres, as they look to bolster their attacking options. Bringing both players to Old Trafford could cost in excess of £60 million.
This means Manchester United will have to raise funds through sales before they can proceed with the transfer of any of the players, and Garnacho's sale could bring in a significant fee.
Garnacho made 58 appearances across competitions for United last season and made 21 goal contributions (11 goals and 10 assists). His current market value is €45 million, as per Transfermarkt.
Manchester United consider offering Joshua Zirkzee in a bid to meet Napoli’s demands for Victor Osimhen – Reports
Manchester United have reportedly entered the fray to sign Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan with Galatasaray. Osimhen no longer has a future at Napoli, despite having a contract with the Serie A champions until 2026.
Amid his uncertain future, Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal reportedly made offers to Osimhen, hoping to get him to play in the Club World Cup. However, the Nigerian striker has turned down all advances from the Middle East. He believes he is not yet done in Europe and fantasizes a move to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal and Chelsea last summer, but neither deal materialized. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is strong interest from Manchester United for Osimhen, but the club are unwilling to pay the player’s €75m (£63m/$85m) release clause. As such, they are considering the possibility of offering Joshua Zirkzee as part of the deal to lower the overall cost.
Zirkzee has struggled to replicate his Bologna form at Old Trafford, scoring seven goals for United in 49 appearances across competitions in the 2024-25 season.
