Manchester United confirmed nine players will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of June.
Among the nine departures is FA Youth Cup winner Sam Murray, who has been unable to make the first team.
Murray was a starter in United’s run to winning the trophy in 2022, alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
But the members of that team have had mixed success, with Marc Jurado playing for Espanyol’s B team and Isak Hansen-Aaroen last seen on loan at Danish side Aalborg.
Now uncertainty awaits Murray, when he officially becomes a free agent on June 30.

Sam Murray’s journey at Manchester United
Manchester United signed Sam Murray from Huddersfield Town’s academy in 2017. He made his under-18s debut for United in a 4-0 win over Leeds in 2020, aged 16.
He also featured in the UEFA Youth League, and made his under-21s debut at 17.
But first team opportunities never followed, despite the club’s desperate need at times for a new left-back.
Last season it became clear that younger prospect Harry Amass had overtaken him, after he was given more opportunities in pre-season and then made his first team debut.
Murray had a brief loan spell at non-league Rochdale in 2024, but did not make an appearance.
He made 51 appearances for United’s under-21 side, but at 20-years-old, the time is right now for Murray to get some senior starts, somewhere, and kick on.
