Chelsea player gets straight red card on international duty but it’s good news for The Blues

A Chelsea player has received a straight red card whilst on international duty over night, but it is good news for The Blues!

Yesterday was a bit of a wild day for Chelsea Football Club and in all honesty, they became a bit of a laughing stock after they publicly failed to get two new signings in the door.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make contact to sign Premier League and England star this summer!!

Chelsea were chasing a deal to sign goalkeeper Mike Maignan before the Club World Cup starts, with the transfer deadline running out at 7pm last night. It was announced quite early in the day by Fabrizio Romano that the deal for Chelsea to sign Maignan was OFF!

So then Chelsea tried to sign Jamie Gittens from Dortmund and that one became the big headline news of the afternoon. But they couldn’t even get that one done either even after throwing in a late offer to sign him.

It was not a great day for Chelsea at all and the club managed to annoy and frustrate their entire fan base once again.

Amongst that madness, internationals continue

Whilst all that was going on, there has been international friendly matches being played last night as well, with plenty of Chelsea involvement.

There was a few Chelsea players on the losing side for England last night as they were beaten 3-1 by Senegal at home. Enzo Fernandez also turned out for Argentina last night as they drew 1-1 with Colombia.

Fernandez sent off!

Fernandez was sent off in this game for Argentina after he was given a straight red for a high foot into the head of his opponent.

However, although this is bad news for him and Argentina, it is great news for Chelsea and Enzo Maresca!

And that is because Fernandez will now be suspended for BOTH September international break matches, meaning he can stay with Chelsea and not risk further injury and fatigue.
