Nottingham Forest will demand more than £60million for long-term Newcastle United target Anthony Elanga, sources have told Football Insider.

The Magpies have long been interested in the 23-year-old and tried to land him last summer (2024).

Elanga’s stock has risen since then and Nottingham Forest are expected to do everything they can to keep him at the City Ground.

Nevertheless, Newcastle hope the lure of Champions League football will give them the edge as they push to secure the Sweden international’s signature.

Newcastle must pay £60m to land Elanga

Elanga will not come cheap but Eddie Howe’s side have prioritised the signing of a new right-winger this summer – and are already set to miss out on Bryan Mbeumo, who is expected to join Man United.

Nottingham Forest will play Uefa Conference League football next term after finishing seventh in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (10 June) that Brighton will hold out for bids of £50-60million for Newcastle target Joao Pedro.

The Seagulls star, 23, is high on the shortlist at St James’ Park with Newcastle keen to add competition and cover for superstar striker Alexander Isak.

Howe’s side have unlocked extra transfer funds after qualifying for the Champions League in the 2025-26 campaign.
