Jadon Sancho is in the dark over where his future will lie next season after returning to Manchester United from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old spent the latest campaign on loan at Stamford Bridge, but he hasn’t done enough to earn a permanent deal.
The 23-cap England international registered five goals and 10 assists in 41 appearances for the London giants, including getting on the scoresheet in their Conference League final victory over Real Betis last month.
Chelsea have decided to pay £5million to send Sancho back to Man United, ensuring they didn’t have to pay a £25million fee to sign him permanently.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider United will have to subsidise a potential move away from Old Trafford for the winger this summer.
Borson previously told Football Insider Sancho is a “financial liability” to United as his current contract, which expires in June 2026, is believed to be worth around £300,000 a week.

Man United star facing Jack Grealish transfer issue
Borson insisted Sancho’s situation is similar to Jack Grealish’s at Man City after he’s recently been frozen out by Pep Guardiola.
He told Football Insider: “He’s broadly not played for Manchester United despite being a huge cost to them for two years.
“He’s got one year left of his contract. The contract is enormous.
“At his age, I’m sure somebody will buy him. But it’s similar to the Jack Grealish situation.
“Nobody is going to say here’s £15million and we’ll pay his wages in full. Nobody is going to say that.
“United are going to have to do something around subsidising the deal, paying him off or whatever.
“So, short term, it’s £5million in the 2024-25 PSR calculation, but all it’s doing is kicking the problem down the road into the next accounting year.”

Man United accelerate ‘dream’ striker move
In terms of potential incomings, Football Insider revealed on 4 June Viktor Gyokeres is the “dream” striker target at United after Liam Delap signed for Chelsea.
Matheus Cunha has finalised his move from Wolves to Old Trafford, but he is expected to feature as a wide attacking midfielder in Ruben Amorim’s system.
Gyokeres registered 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 appearances for Sporting Lisbon in the latest campaign.
