Newcastle United to land seven-figure sum for Far East tour as Eddie Howe welcomes £100m jackpot

Newcastle United will face Arsenal in the Singapore National Stadium

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has spoken about the importance of the club landing a £100million jackpot this summer.

The Magpies stuttered to the Champions League in the end, but avoided the drop into the Europa League which would have cost them millions. Consequently, Newcastle can look ahead to a positive window this summer but also the trading periods beyond 2025.

Howe said: "It is important. I don't think it's the be all and end all. Football and football players think slightly differently to that.

"The financial is still number one in the sense that a player will always, in my experience, look at that. Of course, there are loads of other things, but I'm talking purely when you're talking about a transfer, financials are so important.

"But the power of the Champions League and the pull of the Champions League is huge and we can't get away from that, the excitement that this will bring for the people here."

Howe will have his players back in training in early July for the first part of pre-season before a tour to the Far East. Newcastle will land another seven-figure fee for their tour to Singapore and South Korea.

Fans making the trip to Singapore have been notified by the club that the Carabao Cup will be on display ahead of the Arsenal game. The trophy will be on show alongside a Newcastle legend with the club looking to cash in from the commercial side once again.

The silverware will be on show from 12 noon until 2pm at the Somerset Mall but fans must register interest with the club.
