Kieran Tierney Signs with Celtic Until 2030 - None
**Scottish champions Celtic have signed Kieran Tierney on a free transfer following his departure from Arsenal. The Scotland international signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic, lasting until 2030.**
The 28-year-old left-back came through Celtic’s academy before making his debut for the senior team at the age of 17. He made 170 appearances for the Bhoys, scoring eight goals before moving to North London.
He won 10 major trophies with Celtic between 2015 and 2019, including an unprecedented “treble treble” under the management of Brendan Rodgers, with whom he will reunite at Celtic Park.
Rodgers spoke about how happy he is to see the return of Tierney, saying: “We are delighted to welcome Kieran back to Celtic. He is such a talented, high-quality player and he will be a massive addition to our squad.”
“He is someone who has given so much to Celtic already and I know he is so motivated and hungry to help the club bring more and more success to our fans.”
Tierney made 144 appearances for the Gunners, scoring six and assisting 14 goals. He also enjoyed a loan spell with Real Sociedad during his time with Arsenal. He won the FA Cup and two Community Shields with the London side but has since fallen down the pecking order due to battles with injury.
Speaking exclusively to Celtic TV, Kieran Tierney said: “Everybody’s known for a few months and just to be here with the Celtic strip on again just feels amazing.”
“I spoke with the manager, and obviously I had worked with the gaffer before and I’ve always kept in touch with him. He never had to convince me much but it’s just a huge bonus that he’s the manager because I loved working with him. He knows how to get the best out of me, and I just loved my time under him.”
Tierney will don his beloved number 63 jersey with the Scottish side, the same number he wore before leaving for Arsenal in 2019.
