Antony while on loan at Real Betis
Antony's future at Man United is uncertain
Erik ten Hag could reportedly offer Antony a lifeline at Bayer Leverkusen after Liverpool reached a verbal agreement to sign Florian Wirtz.
On Tuesday evening, reports emerged that Liverpool had reached a [verbal agreement in principle with Leverkusen on a deal worth €150 million (£127m)](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1932537807039603095?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 10, 2025 ), including add-ons. The German international is now set for a medical.
That has left the German club looking for alternative options to strike a deal once the transfer window reopens on Monday, June 16.
According to [BILD](https://twitter.com/bayer04Xtra/status/1932550491386655089?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 10, 2025 ), Leverkusen won't pursue a marquee signing costing €50m (£42m) or more to replace Wirtz.
Instead, they plan to bring in multiple players who can immediately strengthen the squad.
Several targets have been identified offensively, with Antony reportedly being one of them.
The report adds that AC Milan's Malick Thiaw, who is expected to cost around €23m (£19m), is 'high on the list', while Nico Paz is desired in midfield and would cost around €30m (£25m).
Ten Hag, who has recently replaced Xabi Alonso in the hot seat at Leverkusen, could be reunited with Antony. The Brazilian was brought to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022, when Ten Hag was in charge at the club.
The pair previously enjoyed a successful spell together in Amsterdam.
However, Antony struggled to hit the ground running at United and was loaned to Real Betis during the 2024/25 season, where he made a significant impact with numerous impressive performances and goals in La Liga.
Meanwhile, the same outlet reports that United are open to offers between €25-€30m (£21-25m) for Antony, despite late-season claims that the club was confident of securing a fee of at least £40m.
United would require £32.52m for Antony to avoid a loss under the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules.
