And another one – Nottingham Forest in for another Lyon player

Nottingham Forest are among the clubs chasing Lyon goalkeeper Lucas Perri this summer, according to a report from Brazil.

The 27-year-old left Botafogo to join the Ligue 1 club in January 2024 and has established himself as their first-choice stopper. He kept 13 clean sheets and conceded 60 goals from 45 games.

Perri’s performances for the French club have seen Nottingham Forest and AC Milan take notice.

That’s according to UOL, who say the Brazilian is ‘on the rise’ at Lyon and both the Reds and the Serie A side are showing interest in him.

Mike Maignan is the first-choice goalkeeper at the San Siro and has a contract until 2026. His future remains uncertain and Perri is one of the options identified by the Rossoneri to replace him.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are in the process of selling their goalkeeper, Matt Turner, to Lyon. They are aiming to sign a new stopper and have identified the South American as a target.

UOL report Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have made an approach to ask information about Perri. Botafogo are entitled to receive 50% of the profit from his future sale.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has a good relationship with Lyon owner John Textor, who also owns Botafogo. The Premier League side have made advances to sign Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha and Cuiabano, from the Brazilian club.

Marinakis has been directly involved in talks with Textor for these three operations and can now help both Lyon and Botafogo by signing Perri for Nottingham Forest.
