Zepiqueno Redmond has reportedly passed his medical ahead of completing his move to Aston Villa this summer.

The 18-year-old, born in Rotterdam, came through the ranks at boyhood club Feyenoord and this past season broke into the first-team set-up. Redmond made nine senior appearances across all competitions last season.

That return included a couple of Champions League run-outs; Redmond, who has scored 31 goals for Feyenoord's various academy teams, started in the play-off draw with AC Milan and then he made another appearance against beaten finalists Inter in the last 16 tie.

Redmond did score a couple of goals, the first of his senior career, in the KNVB Cup second round victory over Maastricht before Feyenoord bowed out in the quarter finals to PSV Eindhoven.

It was reported last month that Villa and Feyenoord were close to agreeing a deal for Redmond, who is likely to be integrated into the club's academy at Bodymoor Heath with a view to being involved in Unai Emery's first team environment depending on his progress.

Now, Sky Sports add that the Netherlands under 19 international has indeed passed his medical ahead of that move. Redmond will sign a four-year contract when the move goes through next month, but for now, there is a pause in the transfer window for a week because of the forthcoming Club World Cup.
