Ten Hag Eyes Reunion with Hojlund at Bayer Leverkusen

With Erik ten Hag wants to sign Rasmus Hojlund at Bayer Leverkusen, he plans to rebuild the roster in the summer.

Ten Hag Keen to Reunite with Hojlund at Bayer

Bayer Leverkusen have appointed Erik ten Hag as their new manager. He is apparently now trying to bring **Manchester United**‘s Rasmus Hojlund this summer. Meanwhile, former Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso went to Real Madrid.

The Dutchman signed Hojlund from Atalanta for £72 million during his time at Utd. He still believes that the Dane has the talent to succeed at the top level. Despite Rasmus’ struggles at Old Trafford, the head coach sees him as a player with a “big personality”. The player’s potential can be unlocked away from the pressure of the Premier League spotlight.

The forward produced 18 goals from 51 times he played under ten Hag. During a tough period for his side he showed qualities of great talent. The move could give both the player and manager a fresh start in Germany. Meanwhile, the manager plans to revamp Bayer’s attack this summer.

Competition Grows for Underperforming Striker

Hojlund hasn’t fully lived up to expectations at Old Trafford. Although, he has only scored 26 times with 6 assists in 95 games, there is still plenty of interest in the striker. Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were also really interested in Hojlund too.

Hojlund’s form has dipped under new Utd manager Ruben Amorim. He has only bagged eight goals and three assists in 40 matches. Amorim is said to prefer Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres as his main striker target. This is raising further doubts over Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford.

While Ten Hag is plotting a potential bid, Hojlund has not publicly expressed a desire to leave the Red Devils. Given that, it is suggesting the situation may depend on offers and club plans.
