Tijjani Reijnders is the latest player to join Manchester City.
The opening phase of the summer transfer window has been very busy for Man City, having added Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Marcus Bettinelli, and now Reijnders to their squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
A midfield revamp has been at the heart of Pep Guardiola’s Man City rebuild, and the signing of Reijnders will have a big impact at the Etihad Stadium as the Dutch star has all the attributes to be successful in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old has admitted that he is ‘really excited’ about the opportunity to play for City, while also revealing that one man played a big part in his decision to move to Manchester.

Tijjani Reijnders is excited to work with Pep Guardiola
Reijnders is expected to make his Man City debut during the Club World Cup, and the Dutch star will have to get up to speed with Guardiola’s methods quickly, as the Premier League club get their campaign underway on June 18 against Wydad AC.
Having completed his move to the Premier League, Reijnders has admitted that he is very excited about working with Guardiola, having watched the legendary coach’s teams for years.

“Yeah, it’s a great chance for me, I followed him since he was coaching Barcelona and how he played there,” the midfielder told Man City’s YouTube channel. “It’s something that made me really excited to join Manchester City.”
Kevin De Bruyne has been an inspiration for Reijnders, and the Dutch star has admitted that he has learned a lot from the Belgian, which Guardiola will certainly appreciate.
Reijnders’ transfer to Man City could go as high as £59m, but it is a move that has the potential to be really impactful at the Etihad Stadium, and that can be seen by the excitement everyone is showing upon the arrival of their new midfielder.

Viana has been busy this week as Man City completed the signing of Ryan Cherki on Tuesday, in addition to Bettinelli.
Having got the Reijnders deal over the line, the City Sporting Director has stated that he is very happy with the deal and that he is excited to see what the 26-year-old brings to Guardiola’s midfield.
“We are very happy that Tijjani [Reijnders] has joined us, and we’re excited for him to join Pep’s squad. He arrives here with extensive top-level experience in Europe, both at club level as well as on the international stage with the Netherlands,” Viana told Mancity.com.
“Tijjani adds extra energy, composure and creativity to our midfield and working with Pep and our coaches will only see him go from strength to strength.”
Reijnders will now join up with the rest of the City squad this week as the Premier League club prepares to travel to America for the Club World Cup on Thursday.
