AD FEATURE: Man United tipped to complete five transfers with£60m striker and Onana replacement

Manchester United went into this summer transfer window with the aim of transforming the team in 2025.

The 2024/25 campaign was deeply disappointing for the Reds. They crashed out of the Carabao Cup early, lost to Fulham in the FA Cup round of 16, sacrificed their Premier League campaign to focus on the Europa League, only to lose the final and finish 15th in the top flight. Their sorry season means they will not be in Europe in 2025/26 and will have to try to entice players to the club by selling them Ruben Amorim's vision.

United have already completed their first summer transfer after Matheus Cunha arrived at the Theatre of Dreams from Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, further deals still need to be done this summer if United are to be more competitive next season.

The MEN has now examined the deals United could complete before the end of the transfer window,

Ins

Bryan Mbeumo

Brentford's forward impressed last season, scoring 20 goals for the Bees. His contributions to Thomas Frank's team have made him a talisman, and there have been reports that Tottenham Hotspur could try to swoop in for the Cameroonian if they were to appoint the Dane.

The Manchester Evening News understands that United remain confident of signing the forward this summer, which is reflected in the odds now suspended for his move to Old Trafford.

United writer George Smith says: "Mbeumo would be an excellent signing for United if they were to pull it off. He is one of the best attackers in the Premier League, and his consistency over the last few seasons has been there for everyone to see. The odds being suspended suggests there is a strong chance of it now happening."

Emiliano Martinez

Aston Villa's goalkeeper bid an emotional farewell to the home supporters at Villa Park, which sparked rumours around his future. Martinez has stayed quite tight-lipped about his future and is willing to wait and see what is to come.

La Liga duo Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with the Argentine, but

United writer George Smith says "Like most goalkeepers, Martinez has a mistake in him, as highlighted when he clattered Rasmus Hojlund on the final day of the Premier League season at Old Trafford. However, he has been one of the best goalkeepers in the business over the last few years and would be an upgrade on Andre Onana."

Viktor Gyokeres

Gyokeres holds a tight relationship with Ruben Amorim after he unearthed the Swede at Coventry City. Since Amorim moved to United, the striker has been heavily linked with a switch to the north west.

Arsenal have also been showing a keen interest in Gyokeres, too, as they also look to add a goalscorer to their ranks. United are currently leading the race for him with odds of 2/7 with bet365.

United writer George Smith says: "I would be delighted if United were to sign Gyokeres. I loved watching him at Coventry and regularly said he was destined for bigger and better things. He has exceeded my expectations at Sporting Lisbon, and I believe he would tick a lot of boxes for what United need in a No.9. The former Coventry man looks to be available at around £60m, which makes him an enticing prospect for United."

Outs

Alejandro Garnacho

The winger made a rod for his own back after he complained about his playing time following the Europa League final. Amorim has informed Garnacho that he can seek a move elsewhere this summer.

Bet365 understands Chelsea are leading the race for him with odds of evens to move to Stamford Bridge. Staying at United is priced at 12/1 with bet365.

United writer George Smith says: "As talented as Garnacho is, he has not helped himself with his comments and his actions. Furthermore, as a natural winger, there is no room for him in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system. Valued at somewhere between £50m and £60m, United should be looking to get him off the books if a club is prepared to meet their demands."

Marcus Rashford

After being dropped for the Manchester derby, Rashford failed to play another minute for United before his loan move to Aston Villa. A permanent exit is now likely, with Barcelona deemed to be favourites at 4/5.

Staying at United is deemed unlikely with Rashford 12/1 with bet365 to stay at his boyhood club.

United writer George Smith says: "United have no plans to reintegrate Rashford back into the squad and he, like Garnacho, does not fit into Amorim's winger-less system. He did not set the world alight at Aston Villa, but that is unlikely to deter suitors. United want £40m for him and that could go towards signing a striker."

Other potential signings

Some other potential additions that United could make this summer that bet365 has markets for include Xavi Simons, who is priced at 7/1 to leave RB Leipzig for the Reds. Christopher Nkunku is also deemed a potential signing for the Reds at 10/1, but he is currently a favourite to join Bayern Munich at 8/5.

Victor Osimhen is priced at 8/1, having rejected a move to Al Hilal this past weekend. Galatasaray is leading the way at events. Meanwhile, Real Madrid's Rodrygo is a long shot at 66/1.
